These pieces were created through the Reviving Project. Each piece responds to formal design elements of the embroidery moving them into fuller forms.
Poncho:
Pan Xiu Embroidery, polyester blends
3 ft x 3 ft
A poncho created by enlarging geometric elements from the Pan Xiu embroidery focusing on interactions of design and body movement.
Head piece:
6 inches diameter
A head piece reflective of traditional adornment featuring Pan Xiu as the central element.
Earrings:
3 inches x 1.5 inches
Earrings reclaiming border elements in new forms.
